ABOUT DIANE

You might never have heard of the profession of medical illustration. For over thirty years, I created images of the human body for medical and scientific publications.

For the past ten years, as a fine artist, I have been recapturing those images and revealing the underlying humanism beneath the science.  The transparent figures and microscopic patterns I create invite the viewer to look beyond the composition and approach the metaphysical possibilities of the work.

As an art student, long before I studied science and anatomy, I was drawn toward Surrealism with its realistic imagery seducing the viewer into believing what they are seeing.  I love to present an image within an image and in many of my paintings, suggest what lies beneath. I think my artistic process is unique and may appeal to many collectors.
